Had horrible luck shrimping this year.  We hit the 528 bridge, trapping, and didn't get a fraction of what we got last year.  Anybody else experience the same thing?  Last year we'd have slow nights, but this year we had nights, more than not, where we didn't see a thing.

I've been hitting haul-over canal every full moon this summer and the shrimping has been horrible.  Last weekend I netted a whopping 3 shrimp. But I did fill my cooler with blue crabs...

I'll be in Oak Hill this weekend, will report what happens.

We had one decent night, got around 3 gallons, other than that, we haven' seen anything all year...think maybe it was from the winter?

Haulover and 528 bridge are best    when there has been a good SW wind all day.  The wind drives the current there. I've done well even with very  little moon. I check wind and moon rise times before moon phase. Wait at least 2 hrs after Moonrise.

lefthook, which bridge do you hit on 528?  We usually go to the indian river, just haven't seen anything all year, no matter what the moon phase is...weird.  Last year, we did great there.

I went to Oak Hill last Sat. night.  Only dipped about 15 shrimp, all very small.  Got about 7 good sized crabs.  Angry

Also had 2 crab pots soaking for a week in the lagoon just north east of haul-over.  It was getting dark and could only find one of my pots.  Only got about 5 crabs. I'll be out net week to look for my other pot.

Sorry to hear the poor shrimping results for down south.
I have never used a shrimp box trap but know people who do.
The shrimp are fewer down there but they are supposed to be bigger.
The folks dipping at Oak Hill did real well this year!

I hope you find your missing crab trap!
What size were the crabs you caught/
I'm getting reports of a lot of small crabs around.
5-5.5 inches only.
